The operation was a precursor to the Gulf War, aiming to protect Saudi Arabia and deter further aggression by Iraqi forces.

This vintage Vremir watch features a 40 mm stainless steel case designed for durability and a rugged aesthetic. The white dial is adorned with the Operation Desert Shield emblem, showcasing the American flag, a palm tree, and crossed swords, symbolizing the coalition's mission and unity. The black Arabic numerals and luminous hands provide excellent readability, complemented by a date window at the 3 o'clock position.
