Vintage Almaz Soviet Watch, Two-Tone Dial, Mechanical Cal. 2809B from 1960s
This vintage Almaz from the 1960s is a quiet reminder that Soviet watchmaking could be both elegant and expressive. Produced at the Chistopol Watch Factory - alongside brands such as Pobeda and Vostok - Almaz (meaning “diamond”) was positioned as a slightly more refined offering.
The two-tone dial is the highlight here. An inner sector contrasts beautifully with the clean outer ring, creating depth without excess decoration. At 34mm, the case retains classic proportions. Inside beats the Caliber 2809B, an 18-jewel manual-wind movement known for its solid construction and reliability.
