A true expression of Art Deco-era design, this 1940 Jaeger-LeCoultre Uniplan Model J offers a refined alternative to the brand’s more widely known Reverso. Produced during a time when rectangular watches epitomized modern elegance, the Uniplan exemplified Jaeger-LeCoultre’s commitment to innovation in both form and function.

This particular example stands out with a 22 mm by 29 mm stainless steel case, stretching to 38 mm lug-to-lug. The two-piece Staybrite stainless steel case was considered advanced for its time, designed to be dust and waterproof through a clever interlocking construction that firmly secures the movement and crystal.

What really sets this watch apart is its professionally restored black dial with golden pressed on Arabic Breguet numerals, sub-seconds register. The LeCoultre signature rests just beneath 12 o’clock.
Time is displayed with classic golden sword hands, a nod to the elegant simplicity of hours-and-minutes-only configurations. Inside beats the manual-wind LeCoultre Calibre 413, a slim and reliable movement that has been recently serviced and is running accurately.

From the bevelled rectangular bezel to the stepped sides and elegantly curved lugs, this watch reflects Jaeger-LeCoultre’s attention to detail—not only in mechanical execution but also in visual harmony.
