Vintage Certina Automatic Bumper, Cream Guilloché dial, Swiss Made Watch

This vintage Certina features a classic and well-balanced design, paired with one of the brand’s early automatic movements. The watch has a warm cream-colored dial with a finely detailed guilloché outer ring, adding depth and subtle texture without overwhelming the layout. Applied Arabic numerals, sharp arrow markers, and dauphine-style hands give the dial a clear and elegant look, while the small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock keeps the design nicely grounded.

The gold-filled case measures 36mm in diameter, making it a strong and wearable size even by modern standards. The case lines are smooth and slightly rounded, fitting well with the overall mid-century style. 

Inside is a Certina bumper automatic movement. Unlike later full-rotor automatics, the bumper system uses a semi-rotor that “bumps” against springs as it winds, giving the watch a distinctive feel on the wrist and representing an important step in the evolution of automatic watchmaking.
