Exita is a German watch brand. Exita Watch Factory was established in Pforzheim by Carl Rivoir in 1923. Although Rivoir was an important person in the German industry, very little is known about him or his company. Nevertheless, he played a part in negotiating with Swiss manufacturers, to acquire the resources to rebuild the industry in Pforzheim after WWII. The company was making watches into the 1970s, led by Carl and his daughter Lore. In 1954 Rivoir and his son founded the engineering company "Prefag, Carl Rivoir GmbH. & Co. KG ", which is still in business.

Art Deco Tank Watch Benefits

  1. Historical Value: Made in Germany in the 1940s by the Exita Watch Factory, which was established in 1923 by Carl Rivoir, the watch represents a significant period in European watchmaking history. The company's founder played a crucial role in the post-WWII rebuilding of the German watch industry, particularly in Pforzheim.

  2. Unique Design: The Art Deco influence is evident in its design. The watch features a rectangular stainless steel case with fixed lugs, measuring 38 mm in length and 22 mm in width. This design reflects the Art Deco movement's emphasis on geometric shapes and elegant simplicity.

  3. Rare Dial: One of the most distinctive features is its rare guilloche dial. Guilloche is an intricate, repetitive pattern, typically achieved through precise engraving. This adds an element of depth and sophistication to the watch's appearance.

  4. Mechanical Movement: As a mechanical watch, it represents the traditional art of watchmaking. Mechanical movements are highly valued by collectors and enthusiasts for their complexity and the skill required to create them.

  5. Cultural Heritage: Being a product of the Exita Watch Factory, which continued production into the 1970s under the leadership of Carl Rivoir and his daughter Lore, the watch is a testament to the resilience and innovation of the family business. The Rivoir family's continued influence in the industry, including the founding of the engineering company "Prefag, Carl Rivoir GmbH. & Co. KG" in 1954, adds to the watch's cultural significance.

  6. Aesthetic Appeal: The black dial with silver-painted Arabic numerals and silver-plated finish provides a classic and elegant look that can complement a wide range of styles and occasions.

  7. Collectibility: Given its age, historical context, and unique features, this watch is likely to be highly sought after by collectors of vintage timepieces, especially those interested in German watchmaking history or Art Deco design.
