"Vostok" is a Soviet watch factory based in Chistopol. The factory produces mainly military and amfibian mechanical watches. It also makes clocks and watch movements for other watch brands.
The dial of the watch shows famous character from the "Karlsson on the Roof" cartoon. A real find for those who collects items with cartoon characters!
In the 1970s, the cartoon culture was gaining momentum in the USSR, cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse and Karlsson were increasingly popular in the USSR.
These cartoon characters won the hearts of not only children, but also adults, in honor of this in the late 1970s the Soviet watch brand “Vostok” released a limited series of vintage watches with cartoon characters.
Now such watches are a real rarity and are in demand among collectors and those who fond of vintage watches.
